The 19th Camp DoReMi—2026

The 19th session of Camp DoReMi was held at Wildacres Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC, from August 6 through 9, 2026. Books used during the singing school were New Harp of Columbia, Restored Edition, 2001 and The Christian Harmony, 2010 edition.

Officers for the camp were Jonathon Smith—Director; Jane Cannon—Assistant Director, Secretary, Registrar.

Instructors and classes: Hayden Arp taught Rudiments I and II; Esther Morgan-Ellis taught Leading and Modes of Time, and Worshipping with Dr. Watts; John Allen Bankson taught Metrical Psalmody and Shape Note music; Jonathon Smith taught Introduction to the New Harp of Columbia and led a panel discussion on Etiquette for Shape Note Singings; Michael Spencer taught Lost Songs of The Christian Harmony I and II.

There were 35 in attendance with 15 from North Carolina, 6 from Georgia, 3 from Pennsylvania, 3 from Tennessee, 2 from Illinois, 2 from Massachusetts, 1 from Connecticut, 1 from California, 1 from Nebraska, and 1 from Iowa.
