John Plunkett was asked (2018) “Where is the Oak Grove you had in mind?”

“Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church near Alpharetta, GA (Birmingham community)—where I first (sort of) debuted it/inflicted it on others. Loy Garrison was one of the primary folks there. He was an early, good influence for me and similar in that the Denson tradition was primary, but not exclusive—he enjoyed Christian Harmony, Cooper book, etc (and had a supply of both in the pulpit).”
