The 2nd Vermont Christian Harmony Singing

Haybarn Theater
Plainfield, Washington County, Vermont

Sunday, July 19, 2026

All song selections were from The Christian Harmony, 2010 edition. Singers often led two songs at a time.

This year's singing was supported by Village Harmony and the Society for American Music, the latter as part of their “Sounding the Nation at 250” program series. We were pleased to welcome singers from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Ontario, Canada, in addition to Vermont. Erin Fulton brought the class to order at 10:00 by leading 35t, Lisbon.

In lieu of a blessing, Kerry Cullinan invited attendees to be attentive to the “spirit of place,” recognizing the former Goddard College campus on which we were singing to have been an important center of the shape-note revival in New England through connections with Larry Gordon, Village Harmony, and Bread and Puppet Theater.
